Frequently asked questions
Turkish food delivery — your questions, answered
Questions and answers
How does Sofra work?
Browse our menu of freshly cooked Turkish home dishes, place your order online or on WhatsApp, and we cook everything fresh in small batches and deliver it chilled, ready to reheat. The menu changes every week.
Which areas do you deliver to?
We currently deliver across Greater London — including the Turkish neighbourhoods around Haringey and Green Lanes, Hackney, Islington, Enfield and beyond — and we're expanding to more cities. Choose your city at the top of the site, or message us to check your postcode.
What is the minimum order and delivery fee?
In London the minimum order is £25, delivery is £4.99, and delivery is free on orders over £45. Terms can vary by city — you'll always see your city's terms in your basket.
How do I reheat the food?
Everything arrives chilled and ready to reheat. Most dishes reheat well in the oven at around 180°C until piping hot, or in the microwave for a few minutes. Börek is best crisped in the oven.
Is the food freshly cooked?
Yes — every order is cooked fresh from scratch in small batches, never mass-produced, and delivered chilled so it keeps its flavour. No factory lines, no shortcuts.
Do you have vegetarian or vegan dishes?
Yes. Many of our olive-oil vegetable dishes (zeytinyağlı), salads and some böreks are vegetarian or vegan. Dietary labels are shown on each dish on the menu.
What does “ev yemekleri” mean?
“Ev yemekleri” is Turkish for home cooking — the slow-simmered stews, dolma and böreks that families cook at home, passed down through generations. That's exactly what we make: real Turkish home food, not restaurant fast food.
Can I order for a large group or event?
Yes — for larger orders or catering, message us on WhatsApp and we'll sort it out with you directly.
